Clinton responds to ‘Path to 9/11’, rips Fox News
Friday September 29th 2006, 6:37 pm

Bill Clinton appeared on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace- and proceeded to kick ass and take names.

The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart sums up the right-wing media response to Clinton’s righteous rage:

Bring Back Bill!

MORE: See Keith Olbermann’s left-handed whipsong.

AND MORE: I don’t mind Australians using Americanisms like “lame duck,” but it’d be nice if they’d use them correctly.

A SMH story from 30 September says, “…George Bush, fighting to avoid becoming a lame duck president…” Not possible.

A ‘lame duck’ is an officeholder who is is ineligible for re-election. The 22nd Amendment to the US Constitution prevents a person from being elected to the US presidency more than twice. Shrubya can’t ‘fight to avoid becoming a lame duck president’ because he already is one. King Decider I has been a ‘lame duck’ since his (purported) re-election in 2004.

A one-term US president can be a lame duck for the period between being voted out of office in the November of an election year and the following January when the president-elect is inaugurated.

The condition of being a ‘lame duck’ US president is notable as the officeholder will have few motivations or limits on their behaviours based in pleasing the electorate. Lame duck presidents seem to issue a lot of pardons on their way out the door, as Clinton certainly did. Lame duck presidents often find it difficult to obtain support for legislation they favour and are often treated like nuclear waste by Congress. However, such appears not ot be the case with Shrubya’s recent passage of laws regarding trial of ‘enemy combatants,’ including David Hicks…

Bill was the first politician ever to call attention to, out loud, in plain English, the smirk that defaces further the ugly faces of these repellent, hopelessly biased, astoundingly ignorant TV “news” people.

He called it a smirk. It was a smirk. I hate the smirk, but I loved Bill for pointing it out.

What I find most putridly amusing is that it is precisely the same folks claiming now that Clinton was preoccupied with the Lewinsky fallout who were driving the Starr witch-hunt back in the day. If Bill was preoccupied, exactly whose fault was that?

…and yeah, it was definitely a smirk… which turned into stark, nervous terror soon after Bill pointed it out for exactly what it was.

Can we have some more Dems with backbone, please?

One of the most galling thoughts about ‘limited term’ presidents is that they can just piss orf, collect their loot, and leave the mess for someone else to clean up. No ‘accountability’.
