If you’re lucky enough to get a byte in edgewise, go check out GetUp.  The founders have been across the pond to do some work with MoveOn.org, a progressive political action group which has the Bushies scared shitless.

MoveOn traces its heritage to the Repuglicans’ relentless beat-up of Bill Clinton by Ken Starr. Millions of Americans were fully disgusted, not with Clinton, but with Starr’s harassment of him over the non-event of Bill’s dalliance with Monica Lewinsky- and just wanted Congress to censure Clinton and ‘move on.’ Howard Dean was instrumental in bringing MoveOn to the internet, which turned it into the political powerhouse it has become.

Founders Jeremy Heimans and David Madden met while studying at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard in the US. They’ve done some work with a PAC called Win Back Respect which produced some highly effective anti-Shrub campaign ads.

You’ll see more of these guys… if you can only manage to log on to their site! The site was doubtless inundated after Heimans and Madden appeared on ABC’s 7.30 Report this evening.

Lieberal Senator Andrew Robb insisted on the 7.30 Report that mails from GetUp are ‘spam.’ If Robb can’t tell the difference between Viagra and  the will of the people, he shouldn’t be trusted around voters OR computers.

Keep an eye on GetUp- it really has the Lieberals rattled.
