That's ANOTHER fine mess you've gotten us in, Morrie

The comedy of errors that is the state of healthcare, public transport and plain ol’ probity under the right-wing faction in control of the NSW ALP just never stops delivering belly laffs.

Now we find about 800 women who have been molested and/or mutilated by an incompetent surgeon who was permitted by NSW Health to continue treating patients, despite being restricted from practising due to proven claims of horrific malpractise. Hee hee, how hylarious. (more…)

Time to quit, Morrie. You can tell a government has well and truly, fully failed when it starts threatening the press.

Iemma threatens journos amid donations tension

Hot or not? Who cares?!40-year-old Christine Spiteri, the LA based reporter for the Nine Network, while on maternity leave, has been informed that her contract will not be renewed when it expires next month. Nine News head John Westacott reckons that with a name like ‘Spiteri,’ she ought to be working at SBS- and that “to make it in this game, women have to be fuckable.”

Westacott could have more truthfully said, ‘to make it in a news operation I run, women have to be sexually appealing to me.’ Makes you wonder if Westacott has a comfy ‘casting couch.’

The age of a female newsie is actually very closely related to her potential success as a competent reporter- the older she is, the more likely she is to be a great reporter. (more…)

I have too much power: Immigration Minister

Could you ever, in your wildest dreams, imagine hearing Amounda, Ruddock or Andrews making such a claim?

I actually believe that for the first time in the 12 years I’ve lived in Australia, it finally has a competent, honest and representative federal government, one not interested in power for its own sake, fucking over anything in its path just because it can, unlike its immediate predecessor.

So… I’m back to the working in the veg patch and letting the world take care of itself.
