Australian elections coming- and coincidentally, so are the boat people
Friday February 23rd 2007, 6:02 am

hey, we believe you, Kevvo.

Isn’t it wonderfully convenient for Johnny Howard that just as soon as election campaigns start ramping up, boat people also suddenly start being intercepted again, heading for Australian territory?

Can you say “Children Overboard?”

Why is it that the Howard gubmint, which is SO good at keeping ‘undesirables’ and ‘queue jumpers’ off our shores- in between elections- suddenly lose their touch when elections are on the voting public’s radar?

I’m not doing too badly on my predictions of Howard’s election strategies lately… but can’t the old coot come up with anything new?

I don’t want the old coot to come up with anything new!! If he uses the same tricks from elections past, we’ve (hopefully) learned from it and can call him up on it. By now, opponents of Howard’s agenda should have a stronger response and argument against him, highlighting his political nous and nonsense where ever possible.

“…highlighting [Howard’s] political nous and nonsense where ever possible.”

Ooh, great tagline for mgk’s banner. 😉

Aw shucks… *blushes – which is near impossible to do considering it’s Friday night and…well…”piss-up nite” at the local*

But yeah, it was a line in a moment of (sober) inspiration!
