Conroy: ‘Internet censorship opponents are paedophiles’ (again)
Tuesday June 29th 2010, 5:48 am

A number of people, including myself, had thought Conroy had wised up since his ill-thought strawman accusations in Parliament that those opposed to his internet censorship scam are paedophiles.

Not so.

From ITWire:

Q: Have you had any indication from Julia Gillard about how she would consider the opt-out or opt-in amendments to the filter that Senator Ludlum has put forward?

Conroy: We have an election commitment that we will deliver on.

Q: What’s your personal view of the opt-out and opt-in provisions that could be added to the filter legislation are they a possibility or a good idea or…

Conroy: I’m not into opting into child porn.

I reallllly want Conroy to tell me to my face that I’m a paedophile because I oppose secret, unappealable internet filtering and blacklists in a liberal democracy. Them’s fightin’ words, Senator. I’d coldcock him- and I don’t think any court would convict me.

Time to filter Conroy– right out of office.

Here here, bring it on Mr Conroy.
I thought Conroy would have wised up after his great and glorious leader Mr Rudd was knifed by his own party. Now he is calling even people in his own party pedophiles for opposing the filter, good work.
The sooner he is out of the Labor party the better. I may even consider voting for them if they drop these damn idiotic Internet policies and get rid of him!

The ALP are shooting themselves in both feet if they think that this ill-considered scheme is a vote getter.

I’d also consider voting Labor if they dropped this policy, but until they do- and promise that it won’t be back- I’ll vote the entire bedsheet and put Labor 2nd last.

I’m voting below the line (for the first time ever) and putting Conroy last. If enough people in Victoria do this, it may send a message.

(Note: I’m not affiliated with that site. I just really think the Senator needs a smack in the head.)
